Dartmouth College

Dartmouth College is searching for three postdocs with skills and interest in wireless networking, sensor networking, and security/intrusion detection. We desire candidates who can start October, November, or December 2006.

The candidate must have finished their Ph.D in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, have deep experience with computer networks, have experience planning and conducting experimental computer systems research, and be an excellent programmer in the Unix environment.

Ideal candidates will also have experience with wireless networks, particularly 802.11 (Wi-Fi) networks, sensor networks, or mobile ad hoc networks, and some experience with network security.

These fellows will work closely with Professors Andrew Campbell and David Kotz.

One position is part of the MAP (Measure, Analyze, Protect) project, which aims to develop new measurement and attack-detection and protection techniques for 802.11 infrastructure networks. For more information see

Two positions are part of the ISTS-funded 4S (Scalable Secure Sensor Systems) project, which aims to develop sensor networks that can scale to cover a city, and yet be secure against attack and respect individual's privacy.

Both projects are embedded in Dartmouth's premier research centers:
   Institute for Security Technology Studies
   Center for Mobile Computing

In addition we have openings for PhD candidates in September 2007; applications due January 2007.
